Friday Morning Kids Group
On Friday mornings, June 1st - July 20th, from 9:00 - 11:00 am, we will host a leadership circle for a small group of East Aurora moms. We are looking for volunteers to play games, do arts & crafts, and play with their children while we meet. Children welcome! East Aurora Kids Summer Camp
From June 4th - 29th, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., our partner, First Presbyterian Church, in East Aurora is hosting a Kids Summer Day Camp. Lots of volunteer opportunities to help with BIBLE LESSONS, ARTS & CRAFTS, RECREATION, READING, SWIMMING, FIELD TRIPS and MORE. East Aurora Vacation Bible School
We will host a Vacation Bible School at the East Aurora Campus from 6:00 - 8:15 pm on Monday, July 16th - Friday, July 20th for elementary age children. Volunteers needed to help with crafts and activities, snacks, leading small groups, etc. A great opportunity do with your kids! 350 Easter Baskets in Joliet
The first people started lining up for Easter baskets before 8 am, five hours before we were scheduled to hand them out! I could not help but wonder what they thought they were getting that they would wait so long for an Easter basket. I got my answer a little later when a woman walking in from the parking lot was crying. One of our volunteers stopped her to ask if she was all right, and here is what this mother said, "I'm going to school full time and working part time to support my family, and I knew we didn't have the money for my child for Easter. We have to eat. I prayed for God to help make Easter special for my daughter. And then I got the flier sent home from the school to come here today. YOU are the answer to my prayers. Joliet's Food Drive and Distribution
The Food Drive and distribution was a huge success. We were able to double the amount of meat we handed out and the people who came all left with big smiles on their faces. One man came in a little slumped over with a somewhat defeated look on his face. He was greeted with a smile and given someone to help him shop (it's hard to carry all the groceries and sort through food at the same time). By the end, he walked over to where he came in with his head held high and said in a loud voice, "I want to thank all you ladies and gentlemen for all this food."
